Salesforce

Enterprise CRM with Agentforce AI agents. Only useful to a film business that runs sales, client or talent pipelines at scale.

propopular

Salesforce is the enterprise CRM for sales, service and marketing, now built around Agentforce, its AI agent layer. In 2026 the push is toward agents that run multi-step work and a Headless 360 layer that exposes the whole platform to coding agents over API and MCP. It is a business system, not a creative tool, and it has no media generation.

Why it stands out

What makes Salesforce different

  1. 01

Deepest customization in the CRM market: custom objects, fields and automation without code via Flow Builder.

  2. 02

AppExchange marketplace with thousands of listed apps and partner implementations.

  3. 03

Agentforce agents are built inside the CRM data model, so they act on real records rather than only chat.

  4. 04

Hosted MCP servers (generally available) let Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor connect to a Salesforce org without running infrastructure.

  5. 05

A 30-day free trial with no card required, so you can test before a contract.

The Feature

About Salesforce

Salesforce is a CRM: contacts, accounts, deals, service cases and the automation around them. For a filmmaker or production company it is overkill unless you run a large sales, sponsorship or agency pipeline. Its differentiator is depth: custom objects, Flow Builder for no-code automation, and the AppExchange marketplace.

In 2026 most of the news is Agentforce. At Dreamforce (September 2026) Salesforce announced a set of prebuilt, job-specific agents for sales, service, commerce and supply chain, and a new Agentforce Builder where you describe an agent in plain language and an Agent Optimizer assembles and tests it. Headless 360, announced at TDX in April 2026, makes platform operations callable from coding agents; its MCP server entered beta in July 2026. AIforce, announced in September 2026, extends Salesforce into other AI interfaces, including Slack.

The pricing has moved up. The Sales Cloud list now runs from $25 per user per month (Starter Suite) to $550 (Max), with Agentforce priced as a separate add-on from $125 per user per month. Agentforce is aimed at mid-size and enterprise organizations. For a small production house, HubSpot or a spreadsheet-plus-automation stack is usually the better fit.

Changelog

What's new in Salesforce

  1. Dreamforce 2026: prebuilt Agentforce agents and Agentforce Coworker

The Verdict

When to reach for it — and when to skip

Reach for it when…

  • Deepest customization of any CRM; handles complex approval and territory logic
  • Large ecosystem of integrations and consultants
  • Agent and MCP surface is current and well documented for 2026

Skip it when…

  • Expensive: list prices climb to $550 per user per month before Agentforce
  • Agentforce is a separate, metered add-on, so the true cost is hard to forecast
  • Setup and admin overhead is high; most orgs need a consultant
  • Overkill for a small production company or freelance filmmaker

Best For

✓ Ideal for

  • Agencies or production groups with a sales team tracking brand-partner or sponsorship deals
  • Large talent or client-management operations with many account owners and approval steps
  • Teams that want an AI agent to act on CRM records, not just summarise them

✗ Not built for

  • Solo filmmakers and small production houses
  • Creative asset work: there is no generation, editing or review of media
Field Notes

Working Tips from Filmmakers Using Salesforce

  1. 01 Before committing, price the Agentforce add-on separately; it is the line item that moves a quote the most.
  2. 02 The 30-day trial needs no card, so test the one workflow you care about instead of a full rollout.
  3. 03 If you only need a pipeline board and email sequences, HubSpot's free tier covers up to two users at no cost.
