About Adobe Creative Cloud
Creative Cloud is still the reference set of tools for finishing work: Premiere (the video editor, renamed from Premiere Pro in early 2026), After Effects for motion graphics and compositing, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Audition and Lightroom. Plans are priced per app or as bundles; Creative Cloud Pro ($69.99/mo list) bundles 20+ apps with Firefly.
The 2026 change is the AI layer. Firefly AI Assistant went into public beta on April 27, 2026 and runs multi-step workflows across Creative Cloud apps from one chat, drawing on 60+ tools. App-specific assistants for Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Frame.io entered public beta in June 2026; the After Effects assistant is still in private beta. Firefly now also hosts partner models from Google, OpenAI, Runway, Kling, Luma, Black Forest Labs, Topaz and ElevenLabs next to Adobe's own image and video models, and Firefly Boards gives an infinite canvas for mood boards and storyboards.
For filmmakers the draw is the finishing pipeline: edit, grade, motion and sound in the same ecosystem, with Frame.io review built in. Adobe says its own Firefly models are trained on licensed and public-domain content and are commercially safe, which matters for paid client work. The cost is that the generative layer is metered by credits on top of the app subscription, and the apps themselves have the steepest learning curve of the tools reviewed here.
