About Submagic
Submagic takes a long recording or a YouTube link and turns it into captioned short-form clips. Its Magic Clips feature pulls the strongest moments out of long footage, caption templates imitate creator styles, and auto-edit and text-based editing let you cut silences and filler by editing the transcript instead of the timeline. B-roll is inserted automatically (free stock on Starter, Storyblocks footage on Pro and Business).
In 2026 the product's center of gravity is automation. The Video Editing API (launched July 2025) exposes trimming, Magic Clips, music and sound-effect insertion, and B-roll overlays as endpoints, with subtitle generation and translation of SRT/VTT output. An official MCP server at api.submagic.co/mcp lets Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor and Windsurf create projects, run Magic Clips and check status through the same API key and credits. The company also markets an AI Actor Studio for faceless talking-avatar videos and an AI video translator that adds translated subtitles (it does not dub the audio).
