About Recraft
Recraft's core product is image generation with two outputs: raster images and native vector files. The V4.1 family, released in May 2026, includes V4.1 and V4.1 Pro for raster, V4.1 Utility for product and mockup work, V4.1 Vector and V4.1 Pro Vector for SVG, and V4.1 Flash, added in late September 2026 as the fastest raster model. Recraft Studio adds an infinite canvas, a conversational Chat (Agentic) mode that runs multi-step tasks such as generate, remove background, then vectorize, and a Vector Editor added in July 2026 for editing AI-made SVGs without leaving the app.
What changed in 2026 is scope. Recraft Studio now offers third-party models from OpenAI, Google, ByteDance, Kling, Black Forest Labs, Alibaba, Ideogram and others, billed in Recraft credits. Video is the main addition: Seedance 2.5 (August 2026) generates up to about 30 seconds in one pass. Video models are only in Studio, not the API. Recraft also shipped an official remote MCP server, so Claude and other MCP clients can call its image tools on the same credit balance.
For a filmmaker, Recraft fits pre-production and graphics work: title cards, logos, lower-third elements, set-dressing concepts, mockups, and vector icon systems for a film's brand or festival materials. It is not a footage or final-cut tool. Its video support is recent and sits on top of third-party models, so the value is mostly one place to try several models and keep the outputs in the same project.
